The Municipality of Pictou County is building a high-speed network that will cover 100 percent of rural Pictou County.  It will be an open-access network that will allow internet service providers to use the MOPC"s network infrastructure for a cost to service residents in rural areas. 

As an Open Access Utility Infrastructure.  a Marketplace (fibre) application and various point of services will be launched in the community. This will allow the community to choose which packages from which service providers they will want to use.
